Enclosed is fire equipment for Hook & Ladder Co. #790A, Fire Chief Greg in Command. Although realizing Tom’s preference for a life with boots and saddle, perhaps he may be persuaded to combine life on the ranch with fire prevention. Short pants also enclosed for coolness and comfort while quelling the blaze. Greg may find a size 4 too big – if so I may change them. Nothing more embarrassing than losing one’s pants while manning the hoses. Badges also enclosed for worthy recipients. Have a happy 3rd and 5th birthdays respectively. The firehouse mascot has not been forgotten. Hat is enclosed for Eric as well, if and when he feels the call.
Love,
XXXOO
Auntie Ruth & The Hartford Fire Insurance Co.

_______

By chance or divine intervention, Ruth “met” Mother Teresa on the street behind St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Before getting into her car, MT handed out medals to fans/passersby (Ruth fit both categories). In Ruth's words: “The fastest draw in the East.”

Ruth's mother made a Native American costume for her Starlets on Parade performances as one of the group’s numbers was “Indian Love Call.” During a show at a VA hospital, a gentleman—front row, left--appeared to be suppressing laughter. Ruth, mortified, was afraid that he could see through her dress! She continued to sing “earnestly.” What the gentleman was or was not thinking has not made it into the annals of history.
